Due to an obvious lack of parking space on the Business Park some drivers have taken to parking on the grass verges in Attwood Road turning the once grass into a muddy mess & eyesore. I wonder if you can do anythng to put a stop to this grass verge parking. 271574 update_245936 Roy 2012-09-20 14:51 Great work by the two chaps over Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, they have made a vast improvement to this pathway. There is, however, still plenty that could be done to improve this area; the vast jungle of thistles on either side of the bridge could be cleared and the area mown as it used to be, and it would be nice if the weeds on either side of the path could be taken back a little further. Very pleased with the results so far, many thanks for such prompt attention. Regards Roy Plant None

279515 update_246502 Customer Services (Lichfield District Council) 2012-09-24 08:36 It is not illegal to park on verges, however whilst there is no blanket prohibition on parking on verges, a particular incident of verge parking may be considered dangerous or obstructive or cause damage and may constitute a criminal offence under one or other of the following statutory provisions: - •Section 28 Town Police Clauses Act 1847 - wilfully causing an obstruction to any public footpath or public thoroughfare. •Regulation 103 Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 - vehicles causing unnecessary obstruction of the road (including verge). •Section 22 Road Traffic Act 1988 - leaving vehicles in a dangerous position on the road (including verge). •Section 137 Highways Act 1980 wilful obstruction of the free passage along a highway. •Section 72 Highways Act 1835 - driving on any footpath or causeway by the side of any road made or set apart for the use or accommodation of foot passengers. •Section 131(1)(c) Highways Act 1980 - deposits anything whatsoever on a highway so it would damage the highway Allegations concerning any of the above possible offences would be a matter for the police to investigate and enforce. 280282 update_258346 anonymously 2012-11-20 09:19 I am interested to know what is meant by 'passing the buck'. Parking on the pavement is a problem in many areas locally and is illegal. Someone should be doing something about it. I presume the police have been notified. None
280282 update_258399 Mrs Diane King 2012-11-20 11:37 My reply from the council said"although this parking is inconsiderate, there is no ban on parking in this way" they said they would draw this matter to the attention of the police but the situation would have to be quite extreme for them to act. 275651 update_246137 Janice Hunt 2012-09-21 12:53 There seems to be no difference in the weed situation, Lichfield district council said thay had dealt with the problem, then, the same day said that it is the responsibilty of Staffordshire County Council.. All I know is the footpath outside the library is getting very bad, the plant beds haven't been tended for months if nor years. None
275651 update_248527 Janice Hunt 2012-10-03 19:51 Geting the problem fixed was difficult, because no one was sure which council owned the problem!! But at last the weeds have been trested. It's no wonder we have problems when the councils Lichfield District and Staffs county council don't know which areas they are responsible for fixed

270506 update_239962 anonymously 2012-08-21 00:40 This situation has still not been addressed or a response received since it was highlighted. Residents have resorted to posting their own written signs and having to clear up after irresponsible dog owners. Whilst we understand that we all have a part to play in 'big society' given the amount we pay in council tax some support or even acknowledgment of our concerns by the council would be really appreciated. Thank you. None
270506 update_243015 anonymously 2012-09-05 23:53 Despite three notifications to the council this issue has still not been addressed. The problem still continues and residents have had to take action themselves putting notices up to persuade dog owners to be responsible and cleaning up after those who take no notice. Some visible support from the local authority would be welcome. Thank you. None
270506 update_248779 anonymously 2012-10-04 22:57 After eight weeks still no visible action from the local authority. Residents have had to put their own signage in place and still have to clear up after inconsiderate dog owners! Any acknowledgment or visible action by the local authority would be most appreciated however after eight weeks it is looking unlikely!, None
270506 update_249402 anonymously 2012-10-08 18:24 Following the last update glad to report that the council put up 'No Fouling' notices in the area. Even though it has taken over 12 weeks this is appreciated. Thank you. Hopefully this may stop this offence being committed and if dog warden could enforce at weekends or evenings when its still at its most prevalent that would be great. None
